I worked at the Children's Center with a wonderful group of people for four years as director of community program development, a position having little to do with writing and graphics. However, I was able to work writing and graphics into the marketing side of my job, and soon I was getting requests for all kinds of communication pieces—everything from a clown graduation program to signage for the Harriet Lane Clinic move.
